Website & subscriptions

Villages of the Realm uses Cloudflare to host this website. Our free-book signup is provided by Substack. When you subscribe through the embedded form or directly through Substack, Substack handles your email address, subscription preferences, and welcome email. You can unsubscribe using the link in a Substack email. The website itself does not maintain a second mailing-list database.

The welcome email contains a link to a free PDF hosted through Proton Drive. Opening that link is a separate interaction with Proton Drive.

Friday Night Rosary World Map

The map is intended to display the number and general city-level distribution of participating Rosary gatherings, not where they meet. A participant supplies a city, region where applicable, and country, then confirms that the gathering is genuine. The map stores a verified city identifier and an approximate city-center location along with one gathering record. Multiple gatherings in one city appear as a count.

We do not ask for names, email addresses, home addresses, meeting times, or parish details when someone adds a Rosary. The map uses Cloudflare D1 to store the city-level entry. Participants are shown a private removal code once; the database stores a one-way hash of that code. Someone with the code can delete their own entry. You may also contact us for help with a removal request.

To discourage abusive submissions, the registration service uses Cloudflare Turnstile and a short-term, salted, one-way daily identifier derived from a visitor's connection address for rate limiting. We do not store the raw address in that rate-limit table. Older daily identifiers are pruned during subsequent registration activity; deletion is not guaranteed to occur at an exact time.

Printed books & checkout

The book page includes Lulu Direct purchase buttons. Loading them connects your browser to Lulu and may send technical information such as your IP address and browser details. If you purchase a printed book, Lulu provides checkout, printing, and shipping, and Stripe processes payment. Information needed for the order, such as your name, email address, shipping address, and payment details, is handled through that checkout.

We may access order and contact information in Lulu Direct to help with order questions. This website does not store payment-card details or add book-order information to the Rosary map database. A book purchase does not automatically subscribe you to our Substack publication. We use customer information for order support, not marketing without consent.

External services

Our pages include or link to services run by other organizations, including Substack, Proton Drive, Lulu, Stripe, Cloudflare Turnstile, YouTube, Ko-fi, OpenStreetMap map tiles, and Open-Meteo city search. Those services may receive technical information such as IP addresses or device information in the normal operation of their systems. Their own privacy terms and settings apply.
